Road Trip...other random things

Kane took his first road trip last week. We went with Aunt Jeanne to go visit Jason down at Southern. All in all, he did really well: despite the fact that he filled his pants 3 times before we left to go home. I guess I would rather it happen at the hotel as opposed to in the car.

This is the second bar he's been in and what a party pooper he was. At least he wasn't screaming. Everytime we visit Grandma Great, she always sings him "Pony Boy" and puts him to sleep. This time, the question is who put who to sleep.

This is Kane's first pool experience. Matt and Grandpa Bob had been working on their neighbor's deck and at the end of the day, we went over to swim. Kane was pretty indifferent for about 20 minutes and then he started to get cranky. It was later in the afternoon, so I feel he was more tired that not that thrilled about the water.

Grandpa Gordon on Father's Day. We still haven't gone on a road trip to Chicago yet, but soon.

A few weeks ago we had some family from Texas come and visit. This is Aunt Elsie, who is about 5' nothing, which is why Kane looks like such a monster.

Big News!

Well, it's been a little over a week since I've posted last and a lot has happened since then. First off, I got a speeding ticket on the way to a job interview. Thank the good Lord I got the job, otherwise Matt would really have been mad at me. I will now be working at Fisher Grade School, home of the Scotties (the bunny is the mascot at the HS). I will be teaching K-6 general music and JH choir. I'm really excited about the job and the building is really new and has air conditioning. Can't beat that with a big stick. The other exciting news is that we now have a house. We made a low ball offer in a gorgeous home, and when we got our first counter offer we thought it was over. Everything worked out and we will now be residing in Colfax. Of course, you might ask why Colfax... well, it's about as close to the middle as you can get between our places of work. Between Colfax and Le Roy, Colfax is much closer to the Fairbury/Towanda area. That way it won't be nearly as large of a hassle when we go visit. We can still go to church in McDowell.

The home is a 4 bed, 3 bath with a fireplace, sunroom, man cave, and two car garage. I'm really excited to finally have bought a house that we won't have to completely remodel. We won't move until mid August.... I can't wait.

I-L-L

Saturday Kane and I went to visit the Curtis's in Champaign. We had to see these two crazy ladies before they both leave us for Oklahoma and Texas. It had been a long time since I had been on campus and of course it was Kane's first visit. He really seemed to enjoy it. He even went to his first bar Firehaus! We would have gone to Kam's, but it wasn't open.

Moms on the loose.

I know this pics are a little old, but we just look so darn good I couldn't help but post them. Let's just say that you don't get out near as often after kids. So when you do, it's all over... Milissa chose the dress to go with the shoes and I chose the shoes to go with the dress.

Godzilla!

Ashlyn is quite interested in Kane, but everytime she checks him out it's like Godzilla attacking Tokyo.

New Friends

Kane has so many new friends now, we don't know who to play with first.
Elijah - 1 month; Kane - 2.5 months; Sydney - 3 months; Lainie - 8 months; Ashlyn - 10 months

Asher - Kane's 2nd cousin

Farrah - 2 weeks old Meryl & Michael's little girl. What a wild and crazy group these two are.

Sydney - Dan & Samantha's little girl. Look, they've already got their arms crossed.
