I love to eat!

Something to keep you entertained.

Santa Puzzle

Mmmmm. . .

Mr. Independent has been continuing to throw fits at dinner time. Last night Kane got his own meal of tomato and tuna pasta (sounds delicious)! Wow was that a mess. We should have put a tarp down.

Thanks Grandma Norma and Grandpa Gordon for the Bears sweats. The pants don't fit yet, but my fat head isn't going to fit through the neck hole much longer.

Up and down and Up and down and Up and down. . .

Update

Well, not a whole lot of exciting things have been happening. Just the same old, not sleeping well, which means that Mom and Dad don't sleep well, which leads to Mom getting a cold. Hopefully Kane is cutting teeth, because he has been drooling like a monster and last night was terribly restless (woke up 5 times). Here are some random photos of our monster. P.S. His favorite thing to do now is grunt and growl.

First Thanksgiving

Grandma's Helper

Kane was helping my mother and I get ready for the Schroen Thanksgiving. We had the garbage can sitting out. What were we thinking?!?

8 months!

Here we are 8 months later. As of last week, Kane weighed 17lbs 10oz. He wears 6-9 month clothing. He's pretty average size wise. He now has 2 teeth and still lots of hair!!! I think his eyes are going to stay a dark blue color.

Eating habits: loves to eat. He kicks his little feet while he's eating. He loves it more when he can feed himself. He loved the green beans we had the other night. He's a big fan of steamed carrots, beets, broccoli, apples, and avocados. Although he's still working on the whole chewing business. He likes to choke a lot.

Sleeping habits: uhm.... still hit or miss. When I was gone last weekend, he slept through the night every night. when I came back, he woke up at least 2 or 3 times and was restless for about and 1 1/2 on Sunday night. The later part of the week, he has been sleeping until about 4:30 and then waking up to eat. This morning he went back to sleep until 6.

Favorite things to do: pull himself up on the coffee table, cabinets, toilet, bath tub (really likes that), walker, my pants (not so fun when they're pajama pants; they tend to fall down then), dad's leg hair, etc. . . He loves to play with this little drum and chew on the beads. Just waiting for him to eat one. He also likes to ride around on his new truck. He loves to play with the drum sticks from RockBand.

Happy Boy

After not feeling well for about 3 days, Kane has certainly perked up.

How long has it been. . .

That is broccoli hanging out his nose, not a booger.
Look at my teeth.

So much has happened since the last post. Well, maybe not. Kane now has 2 teeth, I went to Wisconsin to a conference and Kane managed to get a double ear infection while I was gone. Matt got to play Mr. Mom the whole time I was gone. It never fails that the whole time I was gone Kane slept through the night, but when I returned he has managed to not sleep through the night. He was even up for about an hour and a half last night. He wasn't wide awake, but he was not sleeping either.

Weeee...

New toy!

Kane has constantly been pulling himself up, so we figured it was time for a new toy. He's sure enjoyed it.

Thanks Grandma

Thanks to Grandma Kristi, Kane now has some fun biter biscuits. For those of you that have no clue, when he chews on them they turn into a paste pretty much and get everywhere. They are definitely something that Kane will only get right before bath time.

Little Stinker

We went to our first Halloween party on Sunday night. Kane's costume was very fitting because he wanted absolutely nothing to do with anyone else.

Nice pouting lip! Of course Uncle Jason would love to get a hold of Kane, but he's not cooperating very well.

Here comes trouble.

Kane looks so little when he crawls. Did I mention that it's 5:45 am. . . on a Sunday!

Girls night out!

On Saturday we went to Megan's wedding. Everything was beautiful. The day turned out to be gorgeous. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of the bride. What a dink!
Hot mamas!!!!Awww. Bob and the Kids!

Ryan hamming it up! Where's your date?

Spa Time

Matt got me a gift certificate to Essentials Day Spa last year for Christmas. At the time, they had a drawing to win the Essential Touch spa package. The package includes a facial, body polish, 1 hour Swedish massage, spa pedicure and manicure, eyebrow design and lunch. Guess who won!!! Me. I mean Matt. I can't wait to go. We have Parent-Teacher conferences on Wednesday and Thursday night next week, followed by no school Friday. I'm going to be spending my Friday at the spa! It's a 6 hour treatment.

Yummy yummy!

Kane is quite the messy eater. Or maybe it's my fault for not feeding him better. Who knows? He sure did like his mashed potatoes and broccoli that I had made him.

Good morning!

Kane was going through a phase where he would wake up in the morning and make the cutest sounds. Despite the fact that it's 5:30...at least he's cute. Oh yeah, we forgot to open the lens cap for about the first 10 seconds.

We took Kane in for his 6 month check-up and all looks well. He weighed 15lbs 10oz (25%) and was 26.5" (50%) long with a big melon in the 75%. No wonder I can't sit up yet. It takes a lot of work to balance a head that big.

Uh oh. . .

Look out world, here comes Kane! The past few weeks Kane has been getting ever closer to crawling. Now he's just about got it.

Is there a monkey in the room?

Grandpa Gordon did good when he got this little drum for Kane. It's been his favorite toy. He gets so excited when someone plays it for him. He hasn't quite figured out how to use it himself. He usually just bangs it against things (like his head).

Catching up.

Here is our new banister. It looks so much better.
I'm too sexy for my clothes!
Sitting up in the bathtub. If my head weren't in the 75% maybe I could sit up on my own by now.

I get so excited when I get to watch the Bears with Dad! Or maybe it's because I"m playing with my spoon.

Hello a month later.

Well, it's been over a month since we've been moved in. Yes, there are still a few random boxes that need to be unpacked, but for the most part we are in and functioning normally. Last night, Kane finally slept for an extended period of time. He hadn't done that since early August. It's almost dinner time. Since I've been back to work, there is hardly any time to do anything other than motherly or wifely (don't think that's a word) duties. As soon as I get home, it's time to start dinner and do a load of laundry. When Kane and Matt get home, it's time for Kane to eat. We attempt to eat without interruption, but you know how that goes. Bath time is at 7, followed by naked time and then eat and go to bed by 8pm. After that, it's time to clean bottles, repack the diaper bag (because Lord knows I don't have enough time to do it in the morning) and spend some time with Matt. Depending on the day, I might fall asleep by 9, maybe even 8:30. Then it's time to do it all again. Enough about that. Oh yeah, we all got our first cold of the season thanks to the sitter. Here are some pictures.
This was Kane "Abe" Aupperle at his first state fair with Grandpa Gordon. He really did well the whole time we were there.
"Dad, you can't look away when you're feeding me!"
I love bath time.

This is Grandma Carol's idea of keeping the sun off my head pool side.

Yes, we're alive!

Okay, so I haven't posted in a long time. Well, we've moved, I started working, and I cannot for the life of me find the cord to my camera. (Why there are no pictures). Things are almost all unpacked, and pictures are mostly hung on the wall. Kane's baptism will be a good reason for us to get the house in order.

Kane is adorable as ever. Become more and more mobile. He's much closer to crawling than sitting. He loves to spend time on his tummy. He can push himself up on all 4s, but then head plants when he tries to move. Sleeping is not going so well. He has been getting up 3 if not 4 times a night. At least he's falling asleep early. Last night he fell asleep at 7:15, but was somewhat awake at 3, but maybe if I could have found his pacifier and not had to search for it he wouldn't have gotten so awake.

He is now (so sorry for the type-o) eating cereal and vegetables. He's like a bottomless pit. Last night he had cereal and an entire jar of carrots. That was the first time he'd eaten carrots and didn't even seem to notice that I had given him something other than squash. It's hilarious becuase when we feed him his feet just kick the entire time he's eating. If he's ready for more and we're not, he almost makes a panting noise like he's a dog. He's cute and Matt and I are both about run ragged with this whole sleeping thing because now Matt is getting to get up with him as well.

Well, I need to get back to work. I promise pictures and videos will be coming as soon as I can find my USB cord.

Yes. we

Sleep!*?!*

Can someone please explain how it is possible to go from waking up 3 times a night with taking only 2 little naps throughout the day to sleeping 9 straight hours with having 5 little naps during the day? This whole growth spurt thing is killing me. We had established a pretty decent schedule throughtout the day, but the last few days have been nuts and nowhere close. You;d think after 4 months I would have some understanding of my own child, but I'm just as clueless as the day we brought him home. At least he is finally giving up this whole crying business, or at least it only lasts about 45 minutes instead of 2-3 hours.
